Placement Cell

The Placement Cell at K. Nanjappa Gounder College of Education was established in 2006–2007 with the primary objective of bridging the gap between aspiring teachers and reputed educational institutions. Functioning under the guidance of the Principal and a team of senior faculty members, the cell plays a proactive role in preparing students for career opportunities and ensuring smooth entry into the teaching profession.

Objectives of the Placement Cell

  • ✔️ To establish strong linkages between the college and schools across Tamil Nadu.
  • ✔️ To inform students about teaching vacancies and recruitment opportunities.
  • ✔️ To encourage participation in campus interviews and competitive exams like TRB and TET.
  • ✔️ To conduct training sessions, workshops, and career guidance programmes that enhance employability.
  • ✔️ To maintain a network of alumni working in government and private schools, ensuring continuous industry-academic connection.

Activities & Functions

  • ✔️ Campus Recruitment Drives: Schools and educational groups are invited to conduct direct interviews on campus. Institutions like Akshaya Group of Institutions and various matriculation/CBSE schools regularly recruit from KNGCE.
  • ✔️ Career Guidance Sessions: Experts provide coaching for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) examinations.
  • ✔️ Application Support: The cell assists students in preparing resumes, forwarding applications, and following up with recruiters.
  • ✔️ Alumni Interaction: Successful alumni share their career experiences, guiding current batches with practical insights.
  • ✔️ Placement Records: Every year, a large number of graduates secure teaching positions in reputed schools, both government and private. Many students have also cleared TRB exams and are serving as government school teachers across Tamil Nadu.
