About the Course

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at K. Nanjappa Gounder College of Education is a two-year full-time professional programme designed to prepare graduates to become competent and committed school teachers. The programme is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The B.Ed. course integrates theory and practice, enabling students to gain a sound foundation in educational psychology, pedagogy, and teaching-learning strategies, along with hands-on training through school internships, micro-teaching, ICT integration, and practicum.

Approved Optional Subjects (UG & PG Level)

Students can choose one optional subject based on their UG/PG qualification. The following subjects are approved under the B.Ed. programme:

Curriculum Framework

The B.Ed. programme follows a semester system as prescribed by TNTEU. The curriculum includes:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should have passed a UG degree or PG degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying degree (relaxation applicable for SC/ST/MBC/DNC/BC and other reserved categories as per Tamil Nadu Government norms).
  • Candidates with a PG degree in Commerce, Economics, or Social Science are also eligible for B.Ed. under the PG category subjects.
